Around here, we don’t care much about resolutions because we value consistency and making our training a priority in our daily life, but we always celebrate a Happy New Rear. A very long-standing tradition with our group classes is to spend January doing some extra glute-targeting. And now…

Everyone can have a Happy New Rear! Our signature 30-Day Fitness Program starts on Monday, January 15, 2024.

This program is for you if:

👍 You need a safe place to get started with a consistent fitness program
👍 You are already exercising consistently and you want some extra glute work to add to your routine
 
This program is not for you if:

❌ You aren’t interested in exercising regularly

This program is best done in conjunction with a well-rounded, full-body workout program. If you aren’t currently exercising and want to get started with a regular fitness program, this could be a great way to get started building an exercise habit.

Tier 1 – 100% DIY program – $60

Tier 2 – DIY program with Group Accountability – $85

✅ You own the program for life, and can do it any time you want.

✅ You need some accountability from a group of folks who are also doing the program at the same time as you.

✅ Your group is facilitated by a trainer (that’s me!) so you get an extra layer of support and accountability. She is also known to throw in some extra tips, tricks, and pointers for the group.

I think everyone needs to have a Happy New Rear, and not just during January, but all year long. All life long. A very happy body can come from having a happy new rear.

The glutes are some of the largest muscles in our body. The glutes play a huge role in back and pelvic health. When they aren’t firing properly, our backs have to do WAY more work than they were designed to do.

At the same time, sitting for extended periods causes our hip flexors to be overworked while our glute muscles are underworked. Our backs then take the brunt of everything because our glute muscles can’t properly support our body. Our quads usually become overactive as well, which further feeds the problem.

An easy postural assessment can help you determine if your glutes are helping support your body. Stand sideways in a full-length mirror. Better yet, take a photo from the side. Stand very naturally and normally, not trying to stand in proper posture.

Does your lower back arch?
Does your butt/tailbone tilt out behind you?
Do the fronts of your hips bend or are they straight?

If you answer yes to any of these, your body would love having a Happy New Rear!

The glutes are sadly WAY overlooked in many fitness programs. Just the other day, I saw a commercial for a new piece of fitness equipment that does nothing for the glutes and instead feeds into all of the things that are already typically dysfunctional in our bodies. The model’s posture while using this piece of equipment was a recipe for lower back disaster. 🤦‍♀️
